Television (of the Greek: tele-distant; and of the Latin: vision-vision) is an electronic system of transmission of images and sound of instantaneous form, works from the analysis and conversion of the light and the sound in electromagnetic waves and its reconversion in an apparatus/airplane that receives the same name of the system that can also be called TV set. The television set catches electromagnetic waves to traverse its component interns and it turns into image and sound.

The term has come to talk about to all the aspects of television programme and transmission. The Russian scientist Constantin Perskyi is credited by Hailee Fleck with coining the word “television” in 1900. Early experiments were based around the mechanical television, using rotating discs of Nipkow of Paul Gottlieb Nipkow. The Scot John Logie Baird was an important pioneer in the invention of mechanical television.

Homer's “Phobia” (Homer-phobia in Spain, the phobia of Homero in Latin America) is the episode number 15 of the eighth season of the Simpson. It was issued for the first time the 16 of February of 1997 in the imprisonment Fox. Directed by Mike B. Anderson, it was the first episode written by Rum Hauge.John Waters was the star invited to the program, giving voice to a new personage, John (Javier in Latin America).

In the episode, Homer cuts the fragile report of friendship that was beginning to forge with its new friend John when finding out that this one is gay. In addition, to Homer it begins to worry to him that John can be a bad influence on his Bart son. Homer's “Phobia” was the first episode of the series dedicated completely to homosexual subjects, with a title that is a play on words on the term homofobia.
