Manuel Payno
It was born in the city of Mexico the 21 of June of 1810. His father was related with the family of general Anastasio Bustamante. He entered as commendable the branch of Customs and along with Dark Guillermo he founded the Customs of Matamoros. In 1840 he acted as secretary of general Mariano Edge and with the degree of lieutenant colonel were platoon leader of the Ministry military. Later one took care to administer the rents of the tobacco tobacconist. During the North American Operation of 1847 it was in charge of the secret service of post office between Mexico and Veracruz and in 1850, being president of Mexico general Jose Joaquin Herrera, held the position of minister of Property. Accused like one of the implied ones in the coup d'etat headed by Felix Zuloaga - aimed the government of Comonfort-, it was prosecuted and eliminated of the policy. Persecuted during the French Operation, it ended up reconnoitering the government of Maximiliano of Hapsburg. Reestablished the Republic, with Benito Juárez, it was delegated. It gave classes in the Preparatory National School created by Gabino Barreda. Being senator, in 1882, president Manuel sent it to González like agent from colonization to Paris. In 1886 consul in Santander was appointed and later general consul in Spain, settling down his impeachment in Barcelona. In 1891 he returned to Mexico and in 1892 he was again elect senator, charge that occupied until its death, happened the 4 of November of 1894 in San Ángel, Federal District. Payno was an anxious, intelligent and mainly very active man. Loving of the reading, it combined his political activities with those of journalist and writer. Its journalistic work sandal historical, political and financial articles. It wrote stories like the Fistol of the Devil (1845-1846), in which it puts in front the diversion to the principles morale; The Man of the Situation (1861), novel costumary that covers the last years with the Virreinato and first with independent Mexico. In this work he emphasizes the narration, the main personages are father and son, one Spanish and the other Creole. In detail painted the types, the humorous passages abound in which a very Mexican grace emphasizes. In the novel the Bandits of Frío River (1889-1891), written during his second stay in Europe, Payno realize one long description of the environment and scene, including the antecedents of the personages. With skill he combines and he groups around the main theme a Pleiad of personages by him known and a series incidents and events which one had found out or in that the same author intervened.
