The Voynich Manuscript is a mysterious illustrated book of unknown contents, written it makes around 500 years by an anonymous author in an alphabet nonidentified and an incomprehensible language.
Throughout its stated existence, the manuscript has been object of intense studies by numerous professional cipher clerks and amateurs - including deciphered American and British specialistic outstanding in of World War II. No was able to decipher a single word. This rollover of failures has turned to the manuscript into the Holy Grail of the historical cryptography; but it has also fed the theory that the book is not more than a processed deceit, a sequence of symbols at random without sense some.
The book was named by the old book specialist Wilfrid M. Voynich, acquired who it in 1912. At the moment it is item MS 408 in the rare book Library Beinecke and manuscripts of the University of Yale.
