Reception and criticisms

As much the sleeve as animates have been translated in many distributed languages and in many countries. Thanks to their fame many videojuegos have been created, figures of action and all type of toys; also he has been parodiado with series as Fall Dragoon and in other sleeves and animates. In addition, from their end rumors of Supposed continuations have existed. In the 2004 I am realized in Japan a special activity to commemorate the 20 anniversary of the series. Ball dragoon I am in the third position of the 100 better series of animation according to the Japanese public in a survey realized by TV Asahi in the 2005, with 1322 votes.

Main criticisms

It audits in Europe

The series was bought at first by a French television (TF 1), that distributed all Europe. Nevertheless, this television audited many scenes due to the violent or presumably erótico character of some of them. The censorship continued in Dragoon Ball Z. In Spain, the unique imprisonment that audited the chapters more than were went Antenna 3, arriving at cases in which a chapter happened to last 13 minutes (with respect to almost the 22 that last perpendicularly). This last case occurred during the transmission of the chapter 79, in which Freeza crosses to Krilin. And they were even gotten to audit a complete episode, concretely the fight of Spopovitch versus Videl.

Translations and dubbing

There were enough protests by the dubbing in Spain largely caused by the incongruities of the French translation, according to the chapter which one was, for example: Kame Hame Has, translated like Wave Kameamé, Kame Ame Ka, Vital Wave, Paralyzing Lightning bolts, infinite Light, et cetera. Kame Hame Has comes to mean the Wave Turtle. Also they have been translated erroneously, or they have been gotten even to change the names, numerous concepts and phrases of the series. In the editing of the series in Dvd in Spain it was chosen to sell it without censorship and remasteirzada, as far as the censorship, to the audited scenes did not get up new voices to them very similar to which appears outside the censorship, although had very good translation either.

Violence

Although during his transmission in imprisonments autonomic Spanish already had risen certain controversy, went after his arrival to Antenna 3 when it raised many protests on the part of diverse associations of spectators, who considered that this series raises the violence, the competitiveness and the sexism, reason why requested their retreat repeatedly. In spite of the controversy, many plead for the values that are taught in all the series through the experiences of Goku (friendship, solidarity, compassion, etc).

Comparative study with David the Gnomo

In him 2005, a study of the University of Valladolid has compared this series with David the Gnomo. According to the investigation, “while the participants did not have any difficulty to indicate to the motivations of the personages of David gnomo, and where and in what moment in history they were, they were incapable to locate correctly to its homologous ones of Ball of dragoon and to explain its actions and intentions; and according to it said one of the people in charge of the study, Jesus Bermejo, this can contribute to that the boy understands the life like collage. The study was realized with 500 children, is not known of what ages. The followers of the series talk back that Ball Dragoon is a youthful series that cannot be compared with infantile series like David the Gnomo.

Supposed continuations

After the definitive conclusion of Ball Dragoon, they began to circulate in Internet several videos that supposedly were a continuation of Dragoon Ball GT, call Dragoon Ball AF (April's Fools); in fact he was fanart drawn with a style similar to the drawings of Akira Toriyama, in which were to things like Super Gokū Saiyajin 5 and other processings or mergers.

This event was begun by a American pamphlet that had changed images of the original pamphlet by illustrations done in fanart and modified the Japanese letters to letters of the Latin and Anglo-Saxon alphabet so that they promoted this new series, which was in fact one joke. Finally they fan Japanese call “Toyble” is continaudo with fanart being at the moment 90 pages that blog publishes in his, publishes of 1 to 10 pages day 1 of every month.
