Introduction

The Buddhism is the religion and the philosophy developed from the lessons spread by Siddharta Gautama, the Buddha, around century V a. C. Is the fourth organized religion of the world by their number of followers, the majority of them in Asia, with about 380 million (or about 700 million if it included the heterogenous Chinese traditional religion). You knew that… Altar to Hotei. Kyoto, Japan

One thinks that Hotei, originally, was a Buddhist monk who lived more ago than 1000 years. According to the traditions, one was about a loving man, good character and benevolent nature. Thanks to his prominent belly and smile, it finished being caricatured like the “Fat Buddha”. A common mistake is the homologation between the “Smiling Buddha” and Siddharta Gautama, the Buddha, the founder of the buddhism; sometimes, the turn fans cannot settle down the difference between both.
