The Mcdonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a supersonic fighter bomber two-seater produced for the Armed Forces of the Member States by Mcdonnell Douglas. It entered 1960 like the first embarked modern interceptor for the Navy of the Member States in good condition. In 1963 it was adopted by the USAF for fighter bomber missions. When its production finished in 1981, 5,195 had been constructed Phantom II, being more numerous the American supersonic combat aircraft.
